Blake Cashman, Linebacker, New York Jets

Round 5 Pick 19 (Pick 157 Overall)

Blake Cashman is another prospect who I thought could have gone as high as the second round. He had a very productive year as a senior but didn’t get on the national radar until he put up some crazy numbers at the Combine. He is another linebacker who fits the space-oriented play of today’s NFL with his smaller size, but good speed and athleticism.

The New York Jets needed to upgrade the front seven drastically this offseason. They were able to solve some of those problems by signing CJ Mosley and drafting Quinnen Williams. But Cashman will get the chance to play early as a versatile linebacker who can cover, rush the passer, and make tackles all over the field.
