4. Drew Lock – Denver Broncos

By spending a dynasty draft pick on Drew Lock you would be betting on two things – Joe Flacco to fail in Denver and Lock to fix the inconsistencies that plagued his college career.

The first bet is a smart wager. Flacco may be heading into a nice situation given Denver’s young talent at the offensive skill positions and their formidable defense, however, the offensive line protecting one of the league’s more immobile quarterbacks is shaky and it is not hard to envisage Flacco losing his job to a rookie as he did to Lamar Jackson last year.

Were Lock to take the helm the issue for fantasy players would be the high variance. Though capable of spectacular, pinpoint downfield throws, Lock’s success at Missouri was limited due to his propensity to commit baffling mistakes.

It will be up to offensive coordinator Rich Scangarello to help him curb that tendency and, though he has the upside to generate fantasy points as a rookie, it may be better for both the Broncos and dynasty players if he is given more time to develop behind Flacco.
