3) Collin Johnson- Texas

Collin Johnson is unofficially listed around 6-6 but he has the movement skills of a guy much smaller. It’s very unique for a player with his size to have the change-of-direction skills that he has.

One of my favorite elements of his game is how lethal he is on vertical routes. He comes to the line of scrimmage with a planned release allowing for no hesitation getting off the line. He separates early and is able to maintain that separation down the field with his speed; he was much faster than I anticipated.

When a player is as tall as Johnson, he’s expected to have a large catch radius, but it can be hard at times to reach some of the balls thrown at your feet. For Johnson, that doesn’t seem to be a problem. His catch radius is absolutely massive, he can reach from his toes to the sky. He has fantastic body control, too.

In last year’s Big-12 championship game, QB SamEhlinger started trusting Johnson more and gave him more opportunities downfield. With a full season of targets like that, Johnson should put up a monster year.
