2020 NFL Draft Watchlist: Wide Receivers
By Seth Steere
1) CeeDee Lamb- Oklahoma
CeeDee Lamb was the best receiver on Oklahoma last year, and that’s saying quite a bit considering his teammate, Marquise Brown was the Baltimore Ravens’ first-round pick.
Lamb has already drawn some comparisons to DeAndre Hopkins and I can see why. Both are able to make ridiculous catches, with Lamb displaying his rare one-handed ability last season against UCLA.
Both receivers also have similar builds. Despite not being the thickest receiver, Lamb is able to make plays after the catch. This aspect of his game is very underrated, much like Hopkins.
Lamb is going to make an NFL coach and quarterback very happy. He explodes off the line of scrimmage with elite movement skills and maintains separation down the field with nuanced route running.
Lamb has proven to be an intelligent receiver with his route running, too, by finding soft spots in coverage.
Lamb versus Jerry Jeudy will be a debate up to and through Draft night. For now, Lamb has shown top-notch ability in just about every aspect of the game. He should be a top-10 selection.
