Bruce Anderson, Running Back, Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Bruce Anderson became one of my small school draft crushes as soon as I put on his tape. I knew, however, the odds were stacked against him getting drafted due to his level of competition and his injury history. Nonetheless, his game had me excited.

Anderson is an explosive athlete who seemed to outrun everyone on the field in the FCS. He also showed quite a bit of elusiveness.

The running back position was awful for Tampa Bay last season. And that may be putting it mildly. Ronald Jones, the 2018 second round pick, averaged 1.9 yards per attempt on 23 carries. Brutal.

The door is wide open for Anderson to seize a big chunk of the touches as early as 2019. At worst, he’ll be a very productive special-teamer for the Bucs this fall.
