Marquise Copeland, Defensive Tackle, Los Angeles Rams

I was quite surprised when Marquise Copeland went undrafted. He has good size, solid strength, and is a good gap penetrator for the position. And while he’s likely disappointed he didn’t hear his name called on draft weekend, he landed in the best possible situation to make a roster in 2019.

The Rams have the best defensive tackle in all of football in Aaron Donald. But after Ndamukong Suh left in free agency, there isn’t much left around him. In fact, right now fourth-round pick Greg Gaines would likely be starting next to Donald. The lack of proven players and depth at the position will give Copeland the opportunity he needs to make the roster. His game fits perfectly as a rotational player in Wade Phillips’ defense.
