David Sills, Wide Receiver, Buffalo Bills

Everyone probably knows the story of David Sills by now. He was offered a scholarship by Lane Kiffin at USC as an eighth-grade quarterback. He wasn’t able to stick at quarterback, but made the switch to wide receiver and put up some ridiculously big numbers at West Virginia.

Sills isn’t the strongest, quickest, fastest, or most athletic receiver out there, but he plays smart, gets to the right spot consistently and uses his size and length very well. It’s part of what made him a touchdown machine the past two years.

The Bills have revamped their receiving corps after 2018’s underwhelming group didn’t help rookie quarterback Josh Allen all that much. That’s why they added Cole Beasley and John Brown in free agency, but neither veteran offers Buffalo the kind of size that Sills does. He has a chance to make the roster and carve out a role as a red-zone target as a rookie.
