Gerald Willis, Defensive End, Baltimore Ravens

Gerald Willis was a tough prospect to evaluate this offseason. He flashed good athleticism and quickness that led to 4 sacks and 18 tackles for loss as a defensive tackle. That said, he’d also get locked down easily and disappear during the course of a game at times. His high pad level was to blame most of the time, but inconsistency is what likely caused him to go undrafted.

Willis ended up in the perfect spot to be successful. Baltimore’s defense is going to look a lot different next season after some key departures in free agency. With Willis’ ability to play the nose tackle and defensive end positions in that defense, his versatility could give him a leg up to possibly make the roster.
