Alex Barnes, Running Back, Tennessee Titans

Alex Barnes is a bigger back who was a workhorse at Kansas State under Bill Snyder. He rushed for over 1,300 yards with 12 touchdowns last season. I will admit that Barnes was not on my radar even when considering that production.  Then came the NFL Combine, where he broke the record for running backs on the bench press with 34 reps of 225 pounds. He posted solid numbers all around with a 4.59 40-yard dash and a 38.5-inch vertical jump.

The main contributors are set in stone for Tennessee at the running back position. Derrick Henry and Dion Lewis aren’t going anywhere. But there is plenty of questions about the depth behind them. Barnes has a chance to supplant the veterans ahead of him for the third or fourth running back spots. Like most of these undrafted free agents, the fact he can help on special teams will only help his case to make the roster.
