Mark Fields, Cornerback, Kansas City

Mark Fields was a consistent force in the Clemson secondary last season. His physical style of play and ability to lock down opposing receivers in man coverage helped make the entire defense better. That said, he’s a little limited athletically and those limitations will present challenges in the NFL.

It is no secret, however, that the secondary for the Chiefs was a disaster last season. In almost all of their losses last season, you can largely point to the defense and the secondary specifically as the culprit. As a result, Kansas City purged the defensive coaching staff and rebuilt that side of the ball this offseason.

The overhaul of the defense and secondary is an extensive one. That alone will give Fields the opportunity to be a depth player and help on special teams.
