Elijah Holyfield, Running Back, Carolina Panthers

I’ll be the first to admit that Elijah Holyfield has quite the hill to climb to make the final roster after training camp. He finished the 2018 season strong and ended the year as a mid-round prospect for most draft analysts, but his atrocious NFL Combine performance rendered him undraftable..

Christian McCaffrey is the unquestioned leader and star in Carolina’s backfield. There is room for more depth and touches behind him, however. While Cameron Artis-Payne and Jordan Scarlett will be the first in line, Holyfield has a chance to slot in as that fourth back.

Holyfield was never going to be the most explosive back, but if he can translate his strength and power to the NFL, he just might be able to make the roster as a short yardage back.
