Stud: Byron Jones, DB (No. 27 overall, Cowboys)

Byron Jones was a fun pre-draft prospect because of his freakish athletic ability. He posted some insane numbers at the NFL Combine, including a shockingly good 44.5-inch vertical jump and 147-inch broad jump.

His tape was strong on its own, but that kind of explosive athleticism solidified his place in the first round. And he’s done well in the league ever since.

Jones graded as the 13th-best coverage corner in the league last year, via Pro Football Focus, and is set up to cash in with a huge new contract extension.

Five seasons later, the Cowboys ended up with two of the best players to come out of the 2015 first round in Amari Cooper and Jones.
