2020 NFL Draft Watchlist: Cornerbacks
By Seth Steere
AJ Terrell Jr, Clemson
Terrell has a great understanding of the receiver’s body language, telling when he’s going to make his cuts. It’s almost like he knows the receiver is going to break off his stem as if he, himself, is the intended target.
One big thing going for Terrell is his diversity. He isn’t scheme dependent. He can play in both man or zone coverage schemes.
Terrell has faced some tough competition throughout his time as a Tiger: Deebo Samuel, Jerry Jeudy, Henry Ruggs, and Kelvin Harmon have either been drafted or will be drafted, and he’s battled them all. There’s plenty of tape against quality opponents for scouts to feel really good about whatever final grade they issue to Terrell.
