Before suffering a knee injury during a pre-draft workout, Tennessee Titans first-round pick Jeffery Simmons was on his way to being a top-10 selection in the 2019 NFL Draft. And while he still heard his name called in Round 1, he’ll spend most of his rookie season rehabbing a torn ACL.

Jeffery Simmons was on his way to being selected within the first 10 picks of the 2019 NFL Draft before going down with an ACL injury early in February during a pre-draft workout. Simmons didn’t fall too far, however. The Tennesse Titans selected Simmons with the 19th pick. Being selected in the top-20 despite concern whether or not he will participate in the upcoming season speaks to the talent Simmons possesses.

Simmons is currently spending his time in rehabilitation in an effort to get on the field as quickly as possible. He recently uploaded a video of his recovery on Instagram; he’s making real progress.

While running may not be the final hurdle in his return, it is certainly a step in the right direction.

With the progress Simmons is showing, the potential for a December comeback is on the horizon. With the Titans on the brink of the playoffs the last few years, Simmons could be the missing piece needed to get them over the hump.

Simmons is more than just a run-stopping defensive lineman; he’ll add some serious pass rush upfront for the Titans. Tennessee remains hopeful Simmons will make a  comeback sometime before the end of the season to give them a shot of momentum when the games matter most.
