4. Jace Sternberger – Green Bay Packers

The Packers obviously think highly of Sternberger, having spent a third-round pick on him, likely with a view to the former Aggie solving a tight end position that has long since been a problem for them.

Early targets may prove hard to come by. Davante Adams is the focal point of the passing attack, with a cast of young receivers behind him fighting to become established members of the offense. Green Bay also has Jimmy Graham, the probable starter at tight end, under contract until 2021.

However, at 32 Graham is past the peak of his powers and the Packers can save $8million in 2020 by cutting the former Saint and Seahawk, according to Over The Cap. Sternberger is therefore primed to eventually ascend to the starting role and has the athleticism and dominance at the catch point to thrive in such a role.

Packers head coach Matt LaFleur comes from the Kyle Shanahan-Sean McVay tree. Shanahan runs an offense in which the tight end is heavily featured and, if LaFleur opts to do the same, then Sternberger could become an extremely productive fantasy tight end as he builds a rapport with Aaron Rodgers. Sternberger is an ideal draft-and-stash candidate in dynasty leagues.
