Top 5 dynasty league tight ends from the 2019 NFL draft
2. Dawson Knox – Buffalo Bills
Knox only had 39 catches in his career at Ole Miss but should have an immediate opportunity to be a difference maker both for the Bills and on fantasy teams as a rookie.
With Tyler Kroft having suffered a broken foot that could see him miss the start of the season, Knox has a chance to make the starting role his own and is an ideal fit for the Buffalo offense.
An extremely athletic tight end who excels at getting down the seam and elevating at the catch point, Knox has arguably been paired with the perfect quarterback in Josh Allen, who is a long way from the finished article but had sporadic success as a rookie pushing the ball deep with his magnificent arm.
Knox averaged 18.9 yards per reception in 2018 for Ole Miss and, though the likes of John Brown, Robert Foster and Cole Beasley will receive plenty of targets, he should see enough of the ball to produce in a similar manner as a rookie and provide high upside for dynasty players who take a shot on him.
With Kroft significantly hindered by injuries in recent times, a strong start from Knox could see him lock down the starting role long term. Unlikely to be selected until at least the third round of dynasty drafts, Knox has the potential to prove a steal for those astute enough to take him and become a significant contributor for years to come.
