2. Howie Roseman, Philadelphia Eagles

Howie Roseman has been with the Eagles since 2000 but only took over as General Manager in 2010. He’s built what may be the best all-around roster in the NFL. He was named the NFL Executive of the Year in 2017, the season the Eagles won the Super Bowl.

While Roseman has used every avenue of roster building extremely well, drafting is always going to be key to maintaining success in the NFL.  For example, he is responsible for drafting Brandon Graham, Jason Kelce, Fletcher Cox, Lane Johnson, Zach Ertz, Nelson Agholor, Carson Wentz, Wendall Smallwood, Jalen Mills, Derek Barnett, and Dallas Goedert.

This year’s draft class —  Andre Dilliard, Miles Sanders, JJ Arcega-Whiteside, and Clayton Thorson — are expected to contribute over the next few years if not as rookies.

As a General Manager, Roseman is one of the best at using everything at his disposal to build his roster. That includes free agency and trades. Before their Super Bowl run in 2017, Roseman added crucial players LeGarrette Blount, Chris Long, Nick Foles, and Alshon Jeffrey in free agency. That same season saw him trade for other crucial pieces like Tim Jernigan, Ronald Darby, and Jay Ajayi.

In 2018, he traded for Michael Bennett and Golden Tate while also signing Mike Wallace and Haloti Ngata. Roseman has continued that trend through this offseason by signing Malik Jackson, Zach Brown, and Trae Elston while also trading for DeSean Jackson and Jordan Howard.

The key to the Eagles’ success in 2019 is definitely the health of Carson Wentz. If he is able to stay healthy, the roster around him is set up to be legitimate Super Bowl contenders once again. And with all of their star players still in their prime, the Eagles figure to be in that conversation for quite a while.
