1. Unsigned draft picks

Every year there are a select group of draft picks who leave fans sweating by not signing their rookie contracts until the week of camp, and sometimes even after it has started.

Heading into camp this year four first-rounders have yet to put pen to paper on their deals. Daniel Jones will be unable to have any competition with Eli Manning if he does not do so, while the 49ers still must get Nick Bosa – along with second-round receiver Deebo Samuel – tied to contracts.

The Niners are familiar with this situation having seen Solomon Thomas sign his rookie contract on the first day of camp in 2017.

Panthers edge rusher Brian Burns is also without a deal, as is third overall pick Quinnen Williams, who did not report for the start of Jets camp.

Typically, these situations tend to get resolved in short order once the threat of missed practices becomes genuine. No team wants contract issues to linger and if any of these impasses turn into holdouts then they will likely be the biggest storylines of training camp.
