First-overall pick Kyler Murray is already displaying his elite traits at 2019 Arizona Cardinals training camp.

Arizona Cardinals rookie quarterback Kyler Murray will be one of the most fun players to watch in 2019. Not only does he bring excitement and intrigue back to the desert, but his style of play is a blend of Mike Vick and Russell Wilson, two of the best playmakers from the quarterback position in recent NFL history.

The question surrounds Murray, of course, is his height. He checked in at just 5-10 at the NFL combine and while players like Wilson have dispelled the myth suggesting quarterbacks must stand at least 6-feet tall, Murray’s frame is slighter than Wilson’s and even last year’s No. 1 pick, Baker Mayfield.

But Murray’s elite athleticism should keep him out of harm’s way most of the time. And the more damage he does with his legs, the more hesitant defenders will be to attack him full speed. His traits will ultimately be his best “lineman.”

Murray is already off to a good start at Cardinals camp and is proving the excitement about his game is not an exaggeration.

Fans in attendance at Arizona’s practices shared some clips of Murray dropping dimes.

Murray was head and shoulders above the rest of the quarterbacks in the 2019 NFL draft class in every category except height. His arm strength, accuracy, instincts and escapability resulted in the Cardinals making the rare (and a bit criticized) decision to give up on last year’s first-round pick, Josh Rosen, after just one season.

Rosen was traded to the Dolphins later on Day 2 of the draft.

The clips above show just a small sampling of Murray, but they provide a great example of his toolbox. He can hit intermediate patterns with accuracy, drop the long ball in a bucket and put defenders on their heels when he breaks the pocket and runs.

Get ready Cardinals fans. This is going to be a fun ride.
