Predicting the Browns’ 53-man roster

Football season is almost here. All 32 NFL teams have started training camp. Each team will be tasked with finding their best 53 players over the next few weeks in an effort to finalize their rosters for the regular season. In this series, we will try to predict which players will make each roster. Next up, the Cleveland Browns.

The Cleveland Browns have been the laughing stock of the league for many years now. The quarterback position has been the main culprit of that. It looks as though they have figured finally figured out that position after selecting Baker Mayfield with the first overall pick in last year’s draft.

General Manager John Dorsey made a lot of moves this offseason that have the Browns set up to be a contender for at least a playoff spot. The future looks bright in Cleveland with a lot of young talent on a team that finished 5-2 in the last seven games in 2018.

Baker Mayfield has the attitude, demeanor, and talent that was perfect for a Cleveland Browns franchise that was desperate for a competent quarterback. Look for him to take another step forward with Freddie Kitchens taking over as Head Coach. Drew Stanton offers a veteran presence for Mayfield in the quarterback room.
