Football season is almost here. All 32 NFL teams have started training camp. Each team will be tasked with finding their best 53 players over the next few weeks in an effort to finalize their rosters for the regular season. In this series, we will try to predict which players will make each roster. Next up, the Dallas Cowboys.

The Cowboys have alternated being one of the best teams in the league and missing the playoffs over the past few years. In 2014, 2016, and 2018 the Cowboys got to double-digit wins, won the division, and got to the playoffs. They were then only able to combine for 13 total wins and missed the playoffs in 2015 and 2017.

The Cowboys have the talent to end the streak and finally make the playoffs in consecutive years for the first time since 2006-07. And with multiple players looking for big contract extensions in the coming years, Dallas needs to capitalize on the Super Bowl contending roster they have right now.

Quaterbacks

  • Dak Prescott
  • Cooper Rush

Dak Prescott is one of those players that will be looking for a big contract extension in the near future. He has admittingly been up and down since an excellent rookie season in 2016. He has the arm talent and dual-threat ability to lead this team to new heights, however. Rush is a solid backup, but Cowboys fans likely don’t want him to see the field much.
