With the NFL preseason getting underway and college football just around the corner, now is as good a time as ever to get a closer look at the prospects whose names we expect to hear early next April. Throughout the month of August, I’ll go position-by-position, presenting my top-5’s for the 2020 NFL Draft.

With the 2020 NFL Draft comes another year of wondering if a running back will manage to earn a 1st round selection.  Right now, a few prospects are on the radar of scouts to sneak into a day-one pick.

1. D’Andre Swift, Georgia

Right now, D’Andre Swift has a strong lead ahead of the other backs in his class. His compact frame and his light workload up until this season work in his favor as he prepares for the next level. While Swift is a great all-around back, he lacks elite speed or power to solidify his spot as the number one back through the season. His final season for the Bulldogs will have him shoulder a heavy load for the Bulldogs and give him ample opportunity to create space between himself and the other prospects and earn a round-one selection in April.
