In this 53-man roster series, we will try to predict which players will make every team’s final squad. Next up, the Houston Texans.
The Texans reached double-digit wins for the first time under Bill O’Brien in 2018. That helped them with the AFC South division and make the playoffs. However, they were beaten in the Wildcard Round by division rival Indianapolis Colts.
There are plenty of stars throughout the roster in QB Deshaun Watson, WR DeAndre Hopkins, DE JJ Watt, and OLB Jadeveon Clowney. The offensive line has been the biggest question mark on the roster for years, but if they can play at just an adequate level this team has the talent to make the playoffs once again.
Quarterbacks
- Deshaun Watson
- AJ McCarron
Deshaun Watson is one of the better young quarterbacks in the NFL. Unfortunately, he tore his ACL as a rookie and then was sacked 65 times last season. If he can get better protection and get the ball out of his hands quicker, the sky is the limit for Watson and the Texans. McCarron is one of the more talented backup quarterbacks in the league.
