In this 53-man roster series, we will try to predict which players will make every team’s final squad. Next up, the Kansas City Chiefs.

Offensive guru Andy Reid and eventual NFL MVP Patrick Mahomes had the Chiefs looking like the team to beat in January. That is until they ran into the eventual champion New England Patriots. While the offense was superb in 2018, the defense was often what let the team down.

Patrick Mahomes will have the offense playing at a super high level once again in 2019. The defense added talent and will hope a scheme change under new Defensive Coordinator Steve Spagnuolo will help turn things around on that side of the ball. The Chiefs should once again be considered Super Bowl contenders in 2019.

Quarterbacks

  • Patrick Mahomes
  • Chad Henne

Despite winning NFL MVP last season, Mahomes is only 23 years old and has been the full-time starter for one season. It may hard to believe, but the kid probably can actually improve his play over last season. Henne is a good veteran presence in the unit for Mahomes.
