Others to Watch

Deejay Dallas

Dallas spent the last two season spelling Seahawks running back Travis Homer, but now the 5-foot-10, 220 pound Brunswick, GA product has a chance to elevate his stock as he takes over as the teams lead back. He flashes solid burst when he has a running lane and is a threat when he turns the corner on outside runs. Dallas isn’t much of a power back and needs to run through contact with more strength consistently. He has soft hands as a receiver and is still improving as a blocker. Given he’s going against a big, physical Gators front line, Dallas could use this matchup to boost his stock in a deep running back class.

Jeff Thomas

Thomas looks and plays the part of an inside receiver at the next level. He stands at 5-foot-10, 180 pounds and possesses good straight-line speed and separation quickness. Thomas lets the ball into his body and needs to attack it more in the air, but he’s a precise route runner with that can get open in a hurry. The presence of KJ Osborn and Brevin Jordan should allow him plenty of opportunities to find openings against a talented Florida secondary.

Brevin Jordan

The 6-foot-3, 245-pound sophomore tight end isn’t eligible for the 2020 NFL Draft, but it’s not too early to start keeping tabs on him. Jordan is a good athlete that present mismatches in the passing game, and his ability to stretch the middle of the field is bound to create more opportunities on the outside for Osborn, no matter who is throwing the ball.

Trevon Hill

Hill, a 6-foot-5, 230-pound defensive end, arrived last season from Virginia Tech after being dismissed three games into the season. When he’s on the field, Hill offers speed off the edge and uses his first-step quickness to win early in the snap. He’s flexible and keeps his pads down, displaying the ability to dip his shoulder and shed hands, while possessing the closing speed to finish when he gets there. Hill flashes a spin move, but it isn’t always effective. He displays questionable strength as a run defender and tends to get out-muscled at the point-of-attack. Hill has an opportunity to make a name for himself early on with rushing opposite Johnathan Garvin against a pair of inexperienced Florida tackles.

Bubba Bolden

The 6-foot-3, 190-pound junior safety is a USC transfer that steps into Miami with lofty expectations. He earned playing time early in his Trojan career, and he displayed intriguing traits that could help him translate to the next level. Bolden should help fill the void left by departed safety Sheldrick Redwine and is a prime candidate to have a breakout season.
