Safeties

  • Jabrill Peppers
  • Antoine Bethea
  • Julian Love
  • Michael Thomas
  • Kenny Ladler

Peppers is the other player to come over in the OBJ/Olivier Vernon trade. He will take over as the starting strong safety and primary punt returner. Bethea is a stopgap option as an aging veteran until one of the youngsters are ready to take over. Love is a fourth-round pick who is making the transition from cornerback to safety but has the skills to be very good in a versatile coverage safety role. Thomas and Ladler offer more depth and can help on Special Teams as well.
