In this 53-man roster series, we will try to predict which players will make every team’s final squad. Next up, the Oakland Raiders.

There was no question that the Raiders were one of the worst teams in football last season. Nothing seemed to go right for them and there was a severe lack of talent on both sides of the ball.

Oakland could be the most improved team in the NFL after adding a plethora of talented players through the draft and free agency. They are still unlikely to truly push for a playoff spot in 2019, but the Raiders will be much more competitive this season.

Quarterbacks

  • Derek Carr
  • Nathan Peterman

Can Derek Carr get back to the near MVP-level play of a couple of years ago? He likely has this one year to prove he is still the franchise quarterback in Oakland before Gruden and co. move on to someone else. Peterman is a Gruden favorite and looks like the leader for the backup spot.
