Predicting the Titans’ 53-man roster
In this 53-man roster series, we will try to predict which players will make every team’s final squad. Next up, the Tennessee Titans.
The Titans have been the definition of mediocre as they have had a 9-7 record each of the last three years. They have been on the playoff bubble each of those years but was only able to break through in 2017.
The Titans figure to be right on the playoff bubble in 2019 as well. If they can get more consistent play from the quarterback position and the offense overall, the Titans could sneak their way into the playoffs once again.
Quarterbacks
- Marcus Mariota
- Ryan Tannehill
Much like his draft-mate Jameis Winston, Marcus Mariota is in a contract year and 2019 is likely his final year to show he can be the franchise quarterback in Tennessee. Much of that will depend on if Mariota can stay healthy throughout the entire season. Tannehill upgrades the backup position and there should be little to no dropoff should Mariota get injured. In fact, Tannehill could push to start should Mariota struggle early.
