2. Tua Tagovailoa, QB, Alabama

26-for-31 (83.9%) for 336 yards with 4 TD and 0 INT

Tua Tagovailoa led the Heisman race most of the season last year until various injuries slowed him down late in the year. That opened the door for Kyler Murray to swoop in and win the award.

Tagovailoa started 2019 off with another very efficient performance in Week 1 versus Duke. If it’s possible to “quietly” throw for 336 yards and 4 touchdowns, Tagovailoa found a way to do it. While he may not be the most electrifying Heisman contender, Tagovailoa is arguably the most consistent. And if he can avoid the injuries that he struggled through last season, he should be considered a front runner for the Heisman Trophy once again in 2019.
