Last Week: BYE

Season Stats: 49-for-61 (80.3%)| 880 yards| 9 TD| 0 INT| 38 rushes| 373 yards| 4 TD

Jalen Hurts and the Oklahoma Sooners enjoyed a BYE last week. That did nothing to change the status of Hurts as a premier Heisman contender and Oklahoma as a legitimate playoff contender. Their impressive performances to start the year made sure of that.

Jalen Hurts has looked like the perfect quarterback for Lincoln Riley’s system and the stats support the eye test. Hurts has been electric with over 1,200 total yards and 13 total touchdowns on the season along with no turnovers.

Hurts and Oklahoma return to the field this weekend as they host Texas Tech in their conference opener. The big game versus Texas is in a couple of weeks that will likely make or break Oklahoma’s season as well as the Heisman hopes of Jalen Hurts.
