Adam Trautman, TE, Dayton

Season Stats: 41 receptions| 532 yards| 9 TD| 35 Long

Career Stats: 149 receptions| 1,911 yards| 26 TD| 38 Long

Adam Trautman has burst on to the scene this year as a legitimate NFL prospect as a senior. He has the requisite size for the position at 6-foot-6 and 253 pounds, and he’s also a solid athlete with good acceleration and solid speed. Trautman uses his athleticism to create separation from defenders for the catch.

The area that Trautman has been most improved this year is in his route running. It has allowed him to become a bigger part of the offense, as he has nearly eclipsed his previous career highs in half the amount of games this season.

The most underrated part of Trautman’s game, as it is with most tight ends, is his blocking ability. In the run game especially, he is able to generate movement on defensive linemen and linebackers and move them away from the play while opening up big running lanes for his running back.

There is a lot to like about Trautman’s game and expect to see him in Mobile for the Senior Bowl as well come January.

Projection: Mid-round Pick (4th-5th round)
