Oklahoma. Jalen Hurts. 1. Scouting Report. QB. player. 815. Pick Analysis

Last week vs. West Virginia: 16-for-17 (94.1%)| 316 yards| 3 TD| 0 INT| 10 rushes| 75 yards| 2 TD

Season Stats: 114-for-154 (74.0%)| 2,074 yards| 20 TD| 3 INT| 84 rushes| 705 yards| 10 TD

Jalen Hurts got back on track in a big way after going through somewhat of a slump the past few games. Against a rebuilding West Virginia team, Hurts was able to complete all but one of his passes for over 300 yards and three touchdowns. He also contributed 75 yards and 2 more touchdowns on the ground as well. He is now tied for second in the nation in total touchdowns with 30, one behind Joe Burrow.

His strong running ability has always set Hurts apart from his fellow quarterbacks, but he looks like a much better and more comfortable passer under Lincoln Riley, and his accuracy is where the improvement has been the most noticeable. Hurts has set Oklahoma up to not only possibly have three straight Heisman Trophy winners, but now probably three straight quarterbacks taken in the first round of the NFL Draft as well.

The success of Jalen Hurts’ and the Sooners’ season likely hinges on their next three games. Starting this weekend when they travel to face the always tough Kansas State Wildcats. Their next two games after that are against currently ranked opponents in Iowa State (23) and Baylor (14). If they can get through this stretch unscathed it will be tough to not see the Sooners in the College Football Playoffs. And with that Jalen Hurts will likely be in New York in December for the Heisman Trophy presentation.
