2020 NFL Draft: Updated mid-season positional rankings and big board
Tight Ends
- Brycen Hopkins, Purdue
- Jared Pinkney, Vanderbilt
- Hunter Bryant, Washington
- Grant Calcaterra, Oklahoma
- Cole Kmet, Notre Dame
Brycen Hopkins has separated himself so far this season as arguably the most complete tight end in the 2020 NFL Draft. He is a very good blocker in the run game, but is also an excellent target as a receiver with sure hands. Pinkney is another solid all-around tight end who may be a better blocker than Hopkins, but isn’t as explosive of a receiver.
Bryant, Calcaterra, and Kmet are all Juniors experiencing solid seasons so far. Bryant is easily the most explosive receiver of the group and can create mismatches all over the field as a glorified wide receiver. Calcaterra is another strong receiver with slightly better blocking skills than Bryant. Kmet is the best run blocker of the three Junior tight ends, but is more of an underneath, safety-blanket type target for the quarterback than a downfield playmaker.
