Jalen Hurts and Oklahoma looked to bounce back after suffering their first loss of the season two weeks ago against Kansas State. While it was a lot closer of a game than the Sooners would have liked, they were able to get back in the win column against Iowa State. And to no one’s surprise, Jalen Hurts was a very big part of the victory. It was yet another day of over 300 total yards while accounting for five total touchdowns. After that performance, Hurts now leads the country in total touchdowns with 39. In any other year, Hurts would likely be leading the Heisman conversation, but as it is, he is right in the thick of it as the end of the season nears.
Hurts and Oklahoma will have another very big test this weekend when they travel to take on the current leader of the Big 12 Conference in the 12th-ranked Baylor Bears. Hurts will have to have another big game to lead the Sooners to victory keep their conference championship and slim playoff hopes alive.
