Re-Drafting the first round of 2019 NFL Draft
By Seth Steere
Quinnen Williams has looked good thus far for the Jets, but Josh Allen has looked even better in Jacksonville. Allen is currently one of the few rookies keeping pace with Bosa for the Defensive Rookie of the Year Award. The Jets have needed a pass rush for years now and Allen certainly fits that need.
Nick Bosa and Josh Allen back to back in this re-draft as the 2019 class was stacked with edge rush talent. Here Allen jumps from seven to three.
Nick Bosa, Josh Allen, then Brian Burns.
Clellin Ferrell has not yet panned out for them and is currently getting outplayed by the Raiders fourth-round pick Maxx Crosby. That being said, Oakland could still use some help on the edge and Burns bring the juice. Equipped with one of the better first steps in the NFL, Burns’ ceiling is as high as he wants to take it.
Look out world, Burns and Nick Bosa are taking over the Bay Area here, occupying Oakland and San Francisco respectively.
Jameis Winston ain’t it folks. As much as Tampa Bay fans want to believe it, it’s just not the case. Haskins has a similar playstyle as Winston but tends to be much smarter than the football (despite some early interceptions as a rookie). Haskins hasn’t looked great in Washington, but let’s face it, they stink; with Bruce Arians as the head coach, he and Haskins could form a great quarterback–coach duo.
After Kyler Murray, Dwayne Haskins jumps Daniel Jones as the second quarterback off the board here as he lands in Tampa Bay with the Buccaneers.
Daniel Jones may not be the most flashy pick, but he has done some good things for the Giants so far this season. He has really struggled with turnovers, both fumbles and interceptions have been a problem since the preseason. Nevertheless, Jones has proven to be able to extend plays with his feet and with poor wide receiver depth he has still shown some promise.
Kyler Murray, Dwayne Haskins, Daniel Jones. Will a fourth quarterback sneak into the first round of this re-draft?
