Re-Drafting the first round of 2019 NFL Draft
By Seth Steere
Getting Jawaan Taylor in the second round was a steal for the Jaguars; he has been great in the run game as a rookie. He still has some work to do in the passing game but has plenty of time to fix those issues. Getting him in the first obviously doesn’t hold the same value as it did snagging him in the second, but a franchise tackle is a franchise tackle.
Let’s be honest with ourselves, picking a tight end in the top 10 no matter how good he may be probably isn’t the best choice. The Lions have a glaring need at linebacker and Devin White is their guy. He finally had his break-out game against the Seahawks after suffering from an injury earlier in the season.
A running back in the top 10? Sue me, I don’t care!!!
Josh Jacobs has looked phenomenal as a rookie for the Raiders and the Bills need to get a running game behind Josh Allen.
Had there been an edge rusher worthy of top 10 pick he would’ve been the choice, but no names stood out.
Devin Bush has been everything the Steelers hoped he would be and more. Coming in undersized — standing 5-foot-10 — they’re were some concerns about how he would fare against NFL athletes. He has quickly put that criticism to bed by doing what he did in college: making plays sideline-to-sideline and being a nuisance in the passing game (2 INTs and 4 Pass-Deflections).
