Re-Drafting the first round of 2019 NFL Draft
By Seth Steere
It’s no secret that the Chargers need help upfront. Cody Ford hasn’t gotten much time on the field in Buffalo, but when he is, he’s looked solid. Forced to play guard for the Bills, Ford still has the ability to play tackle and could do so for the Chargers.
The secondary in Seattle isn’t really what we are accustomed to seeing from the Seahawks. Blair has looked good as a rookie, but he is more of free safety while Rapp plays more in the box. With the chance to still land Blair in the second Seattle could have another formidable safety duo. Rapp will now be tasked with watching the eyes of Kyler Murray twice per year after landing in the NFC West here.
Montez Sweat hasn’t quite panned out to be what the Redskins had hoped through the midway point, but that’s no reason to bail this early; he still holds all the tangibles to be a great pass rusher in the NFL. He is no Nick Bosa, but he will do for the Giants here at the end of the first round.
Sweat becomes the fourth and final edge rusher taken in this re-draft as Nick Bosa, Josh Allen, Brian Burns, and himself provide a heavy dose of pass rush from this 2019 draft class.
The Falcons are allowing over 110 yards on the ground and could use some help next to Grady Jarrett. Wilkins is getting outshined by his former teammate Lawrence in their early careers, but Wilkins’ potential is still much higher.
Nick Bosa, Josh Allen, Brian Burns, Quinnen Williams, Jeffrey Simmons, Ed Oliver, Christian Wilkins. This is a deep class of front four defenders as Wilkins becomes the last one off the board in this re-draft.
Before the draft, many were comparing Hockenson to get Gronk, so here you New England, here is your mini-Gronk continue to win every Super Bowl for the rest of time.
On a serious note, Hockenson has looked solid as a rookie for the Lions, but they never should’ve drafted him in the top 10; so here he is, falling to a much more reasonable spot in the draft.
From Kyler Murray to T.J. Hockenson, that is a wrap on this 2019 NFL re-draft.
