EDGE. Auburn. Nick Coe. 55. . 111. player.

While Bud Dupree is playing his best football in a contract season, next year’s contract players play a bigger role in this selection. JuJu Smith-Schuster, TJ Watt and James Conner will all be due a payday. That leaves little room for a guy like Dupree, who has been lackluster for the majority of his career.

Coming off an impressive seven sack season in 2018, Nick Coe was poised for a monster season for the Auburn Tigers. Unfortunately, in six games, Coe is without a sack. Even more concerning is injuries aren’t what’s keeping him off the field for one of college football’s most dominant defenses.

As a result, Coe has seen his draft stock plummet. Though he still has another year of eligibility, should Coe declare, this is a good spot for him. Whether the Steelers hang on to Dupree or not, Coe would be a valuable depth option with the potential to emerge and man the power side of the Steelers’ defensive edge. Pittsburgh hasn’t seen enough from Ola Adeniyi to expect him to be the third pass rush option, and Anthony Chickillo hasn’t been reliable, on or off the field.

The Steelers need depth on the edge. Nick Coe has a lot of upside and would make for a great option in providing that depth if the organization were to convince him to keep his head on straight.
