Scouting Report

A relative unknown to this point in the season, but worth watching regardless due to his unique skillset, is Baylor defensive tackle Bravvion Roy. At 6-1 and 333 pounds, Roy is predominantly a one-technique defensive tackle, and usually lined up as the nose tackle over the center.

While, outside of the likes of Danny Shelton in 2015 and Vita Vea in 2018, nose tackles do not tend to be drafted high in the draft, Roy could be a day-three sleeper that could play a major role for an NFL team against the run in the 2020 NFL Draft. Showing the ability to eat up blocks and keep offensive linemen away from the second level, Roy has been doing the dirty work all season for the Baylor Bears.

On the season, Roy has tallied two and a half sacks and seven and a half tackles from his one-technique alignment along the Baylor defensive front. Taking a big step forward from his junior year, Roy has already recorded four more stops behind the line of scrimmage and one more sack than he did a year ago.

There has also been no word on Roy’s status for any post-season all-star games as he has not received a Senior Bowl invite to this point either. Take your eye off the ball every once in a while and watch big number 99 go to work in the trenches.
