Scouting Report

STOCK UP

With the injury to Tua Tagovailoa, LSU quarterback is now looking like the bonafide top quarterback in this year’s draft class; his play yesterday against Ole Miss only further helped to solidify this. While he is this writer’s second rated quarterback behind Oregon’s Justin Herbert, the difference is razor thin between the two seniors.

As the LSU Tigers hung 58 points on the Rebels of Ole Miss, Burrow threw for nearly 500 yards passing with five touchdowns and two interceptions on the day; he finished the game yesterday with a quarterback rating of 94.7 as the Tigers advance to 10- on the season. Burrow, showing his ability to use his legs as well, ran for an additional 26 yards on the ground as well.

Looking like the front runner for the Heisman Trophy, the Ohio State grad transfer from a year ago has thrown for nearly 3,700 yards at this point with 38 touchdowns and just six interceptions on the year. Burrow is completing an astounding 78 percent of his passes this year as well as the Tigers are in the driver’s seat in the SEC.

Entering the season as a day-three flyer, Burrow has now put himself squarely in the conversation as the first overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft this upcoming April. As the Tigers continue to march on towards the College Football Playoffs, Burrow is the driving force and lifeblood of the team.
