Jalen Hurts was magical in the second-half versus Baylor over the weekend in helping the Sooners overcome what was a 28-3 deficit at one point. Those that watched the primetime game between the two Big 12 Championship contenders now that Hurts’ first-half performance was a very big reason for that deficit in the first place.
In the first half, he accounted for multiple fumbles, an interception, and multiple other questionable decisions with the ball. After halftime, however, Hurts was a machine. He showed his trademark excellent poise while also showing some superb toughness running the ball in the comeback victory.
While he still put together a solid overall performance, his turnovers in this game are what caused him to get jumped in these standings.
Jalen Hurts will look to perform well for the entire game and pass 1,000 rushing yards on the season when Oklahoma hosts a usually tough TCU defense this Saturday. Hurts will then battle with fellow Heisman contender Chuba Hubbard and Oklahoma State to close out the regular season.
