Last week at Mississippi: 32-for-42 (76.2%)| 489 yards| 5 TD| 2 INT| 9 rushes| 26 yards| 0 TD
Season Stats: 268-for-341 (78.6%)| 3,687 yards| 38 TD| 6 INT| 75 rushes| 215 yards| 3 TD
Despite some expecting a let down after the Alabama game, Joe Burrow had another impressive performance in helping lead LSU to another convincing victory over the weekend. Against Ole Miss, Burrow accounted for close to 500 yards passing and five touchdowns.
With the injury to Tua, Burrow now sits in the driver’s seat of not only the Heisman race, but also for the top pick in the 2020 NFL Draft. After looking like an Average Joe a year ago, Burrow has taken the LSU Tigers to new heights, heights that could soon include a national title.
While he did throw two bad interceptions, that only brings his yearly total to six which is good for an impressive 1.7% interception rate. On the season, Burrow now has accounted for the second-most total touchdowns as well as the second-most passing yards in college football. He has also led his team to an undefeated record so far against a very formidable schedule.
Joe Burrow and the Tigers will have what should be an easy game against Arkansas this weekend who is still winless in conference play this season. They will then finish the regular season up with a game against the Aggies of Texas A&M. The Heisman Trophy still figures to be Joe Burrow’s to lose at this point.
