53. Pick Analysis. S. LSU. Grant Delpit. 12. player. Scouting Report

With the twelfth pick in the 2020 NFL Draft, the Cleveland Browns select Grant Delpit, safety, LSU.

Continuing to strengthen their claim to DBU, LSU has their second defensive back selected in the top 15 of this mock draft as the Browns land the best safety in the class in Grant Delpit. While the offensive line is a need here for the Browns, Delpit is the best player available and tackle can always be addressed in the second round.

With Damarious Randall asking for a ridiculous amount of money and not playing up to the hype, there is a slim chance he returns to Cleveland next year. Additionally, the Browns already cut their starting strong safety in Jermaine Whitehead after he blasted out several threats onto social media after a loss.

Adding Delpit gives the Browns a rangy, day one starting safety with elite production at the college level. While tackling is an issue for Delpit, it was for Greedy Williams coming out of college as well and the Browns have seemed to have fixed that.

Denzel Ward, Greedy Williams, and now Grant Delpit. The Browns are slowly but surely building their own Legion of Boom over the past three drafts as the LSU star lands in Cleveland here.
