Pick Analysis. OT. Andrew Thomas. 2. player. Scouting Report. Georgia. 58

With the second pick in the 2020 NFL Draft, Washington selects Andrew Thomas, offensive tackle, Georgia.

Poor Dwayne Haskins.

In yesterday’s blowout loss to the New York Jets (yes, the Jets), Washington’s rookie quarterback and former first round pick can be seen pleading with his offensive line. This group that surrendered six sacks on the day looked disinterested in the attempt at leadership from their quarterback; Washington must give Haskins some help up front if they do not want to completely ruin their young quarterback.

Currently in position to receive the second overall pick in the draft, Washington has a pretty easy choice on their hands in Georgia’s Andrew Thomas. Consistently ranked as the top rated tackle in this year’s draft class, Thomas fits like a glove with Washington’s desperate need for help along their offensive front.

Donald Penn and Morgan Moses are just not cutting it in Washington, and given that Penn is an aging veteran on an expiring deal, it would be a shock to see him return to the nation’s capital in 2020. Thomas has the solid technique and smarts to come in and start from day one for Washington at the left tackle position.

Washington takes Thomas, and Haskins rejoices.
