Chase Young. player. 31. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. 3. EDGE. Ohio State

With the third pick in the 2020 NFL Draft, the New York Giants select Chase Young, EDGE, Ohio State.

The Giants would be so lucky to have the best player in the draft fall right into their lap with the third pick in the draft in Ohio State’s Chase Young. While they have traded for and hope to lock down interior defensive lineman Leonard Williams for the future, the Giants need a pass rush off the edge as well.

A bonafide superstar in Columbus, Ohio, Young has been wreaking havoc on opposing backfields all season long. Young has 13.5 sacks and 15.5 tackles behind the line of scrimmage for the Buckeyes this season in just eight games this season after receiving a two game suspension for taking money from a family friend.

Good news for Young, here is a full list of reasons his suspension will impact his NFL future in the eyes of NFL teams and general managers:

  1. It won’t

In fact, most NFL teams are probably relieved that Young did not have to take the field against Maryland and Rutgers in two pretty meaningless games for the Buckeyes. They will now get to see him in the back stretch of the Buckeyes’ schedule that consists of top ten opponent Penn State, top 15 opponent Michigan, the Big Ten title game, and potentially the College Football Playoffs.

Here the Giants land the best player in the draft and a potential long time Pro Bowler in Young.
