4. player. QB. Oregon. Justin Herbert. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. 59

With the fourth pick in the 2020 NFL Draft, the Miami Dolphins select Justin Herbert, quarterback, Oregon.

So the “Tank for Tua” strategy has not gone to plan for the Dolphins this season, as they have won a few games, and Tua Tagovailoa now has a broken hip and may be facing a slide down the draft board as a result. Good news for Miami, however, is that they land a better quarterback in Justin Herbert anyway.

Josh Rosen was never given a chance to succeed, and Ryan Fitzpatrick is obviously a veteran bridge quarterback. The Dolphins are in need of an identity and face of the franchise for the future; look no forward as Herbert fits the part; in this writer’s opinion, he is not only the top ranked quarterback this year, but would have been last year had he come out for the 2019 NFL Draft.

Completing nearly 70 percent of his passes, Herbert has thrown for nearly 2,700 yards, 28 touchdowns, and just three interceptions during his 2019 campaign. Herbert has done nothing to hurt his draft stock from a year ago, and he is actually on pace for his best season yet.

Congratulations Miami, you got the best quarterback in the class and didn’t even have to go winless or trade up to get him.
