Scouting Report. Jake Fromm. player. 48. Pick Analysis. QB. Georgia. 6

With the sixth pick in the 2020 NFL Draft, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers select Jake Fromm, quarterback, Georgia.

Wit Tua Tagovailoa slipping down the 2020 NFL Draft board, names have to rise.

Jake Fromm continues to be slept on due to his subpar numbers, but on film the Georgia quarterback displays great touch, excellent mental dexterity, the ability to protect the football, and good accuracy outside the numbers to fit the ball into some tight windows. Do you know who possesses none of these traits described? Jameis Winston.

It has been five years of the same for Winston, and the team and its fanbase can only scapegoat the offensive line so much. While the Buccaneers’ offensive line is horrendous, so is Seattle’s and Houston’s, but you do not see Russell Wilson and Deshaun Wilson tossing 18 picks over a 10 game span; instead, both of these guys are MVP candidates at this point in the season.

There is a reason the Buccaneers have not given Winston a new contract 10 games into the last year of his deal when franchise quarterbacks are getting new deals before their contract year: he is not a franchise quarterback.

Needing to blow it up entirely, Tampa Bay needs to begin deconstructing every pillar they have built this mediocre team on, starting with Winston. Going in the opposite direction of the turnover machine and headache that Winston is, the Bucs take Fromm to lead their franchise into the future.
