Scouting Report. Ohio State. 7. player. 45. Pick Analysis. CB. Jeffrey Okudah

With the seventh pick in the 2020 NFL Draft, the Denver Broncos select Jeffrey Okudah, cornerback, Ohio State.

With Chris Harris aging and entering the last year of his deal, Bradley Roby signing with the Texans last offseason, and Aqib Talib long gone, the once formidable Broncos secondary has been erased to table scraps. Here they land the best cornerback in the class in Ohio State’s Jeffrey Okudah to give them a young shutdown cornerback to build around for the future.

Okudah becomes the second Buckeye off the board here in the top ten of this mock draft and is the first cornerback taken here. Playing out of his mind for a much improved Ohio State defense, Okudah has tallied three interceptions, four passes defended, a tackle for loss, and a forced fumble for the silver bullets.

The Broncos have a young pass rusher to build their defense around in Bradley Chubb, a young safety in Justin Simmons, and now a young cornerback in Okudah. This is a recipe for an elite defense for the future.

Just as the case was in 2017 with Marshone Lattimore and Gareon Conley, the Buckeyes could again see two cornerbacks taken in the first round this year. This starts with Okudah, the definition of a press man, lockdown cornerback, to the Broncos with the seventh overall pick in the draft.
