All three OSU cornerbacks (Okudah, Wade, Arnette)

The Buckeyes may have not only one, but two first round cornerbacks this year in Jeffrey Okudah and Shaun Wade; Damon Arnette is not far behind either, as he could easily be a top-50 pick in the upcoming draft. Three cornerbacks from one team in the first two round of the draft; if that is not a statement to be named DBU then I do not know what is.

Okudah looks like a top-10 lock at this point in the season, Wade a borderline first rounder who landed with the Raiders with the 20th overall pick in a recent mock draft, and Arnette has seen his draft stock soar as well after deciding to come back for his senior season. Looking ahead a little bit, Ohio State has the secondary to keep up with the receiving corps and pass-heavy offenses of an LSU, Clemson, or Alabama.

Currently ranked as the second best team in the country, the Buckeyes have a much improved defense to thank for this. Not only is Ohio State’s front four, including one man who will make an appearance later, high powered, but so is their secondary. Penn State does not have a ton of weapons to watch for in the passing game, but one big play threat is next.

Two years ago the Buckeyes had two cornerbacks go in the first round in Marshone Lattimore and Gareon Conley. In the 2020 NFL Draft they could not only have two more first rounders, but three players in the top 60 at the cornerback position.
