Nick Bosa is on track to be rewarded for a dominant rookie campaign. The San Francisco 49ers pass rusher leads all defenders in fan votes.

The frontrunner for Defensive Rookie of the Year, Nick Bosa also appears set for a Pro Bowl appearance at the end of a dominant first season in the NFL.

San Francisco 49ers defensive end Bosa leads all defenders in fan votes at this stage with 72,506, with the second overall pick clearly already extremely popular as he has established himself as one of the best pass rushers in the league.

Bosa has earned the widespread acclaim he has been the subject of by tormenting opposing offensive lines right off the bat this year. The former Ohio State star has seven sacks to go with an interception and a forced fumble through his first 10 games.

Even when he has not been able to get to the quarterback, Bosa has made an impact by creating pressures that have been cleaned up by his teammates on a stacked defensive line.

Against the Arizona Cardinals in Week 11, Bosa had one of his worst games of the season, yet still racked up five pressures of Kyler Murray, according to Pro Football Focus.

Bosa has had at least four pressures in eight games this season and the 49ers will be looking for him to have a massive influence down a daunting stretch run — San Francisco faces the Green Bay Packers, Baltimore Ravens and New Orleans Saints in the next three weeks — as they aim to sew up a first-round bye in the playoffs.

There is little suggest Bosa cannot continue to produce game-wrecking performances in the coming weeks and in the postseason. Should he play a starring role in December and January, then the chances of Bosa winning Defensive Player of the Year and having to skip the Pro Bowl to play in Super Bowl LIV will greatly increase.
